Policy Maker of the Year
City of Buckeye, Arizona Mayor, Eric Orsborn, is being honored as the ACTEAZ Policy Maker of the Year. Eric Orsborn was elected Mayor in 2020, after serving on the Buckeye City Council as the District 6 representative from 2010 to 2020. Mayor Orsborn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Arizona State University. Mayor Orsborn is the owner of OCM, a Construction and Maintenance company based in Buckeye, Arizona.
A graduate of the first Buckeye Leadership Academy, Mayor Orsborn is also a Blue Blazer and member of Fighter Country Partnership, a group that supports the men, women and the mission of Luke Air Force Base. He also serves on the MAG Regional Council, MAG Transportation Policy Committee, MAG Economic Development Committee and Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC) boards.
Mayor Orsborn is a true champion of Career and Technical Education. He is a strong supporter and advocate for career-connected education in the community. He has always been involved in community events and any opportunity to engage with local CTE programs and CTSO activities. Earlier this year, partnering with the Buckeye Union High School District, Mayor Orsborn proclaimed February as CTE Month in the City of Buckeye.
Mayor Orsborn understands quality CTE is a key to successful economic development. Buckeye is the fastest growing city in the nation, attracting major businesses and manufacturing to the community. Mayor Orsborn and the economic development team have strategically connected new companies with education and training opportunities in the local community to create a sustainable workforce.
