Gilbert High’s Automotive Technology Program Competing for National Title

(Gilbert, Arizona) — Gilbert High School’s Automotive Technology Program is among the Top 20 finalists competing for the Tomorrow’s Tech “2018 School of the Year” title.
Gilbert was nominated among nearly 600 different high schools, technical schools and colleges across the United States.
This competitive cohort of schools highlights the importance of Gilbert High being among the 20 finalists, since it was selected among higher level tech schools and colleges in the nation.
The competition seeks to find out how school automotive programs are evolving in the industry, and what efforts these technical training programs are doing to keep up with trends and innovation.
“Industry partners is the key for training students for today’s automotive industry, and all the innovations occurring,” said Jonathan Strait, Automotive Instructor at Gilbert High.
WIX Filters and O’Reilly Auto Parts are partnering with Tomorrow’s Tech, as well as sponsoring the 2018 competition.
The winning school will receive tools, prizes, a special recognition and a cash prize of $5,000.
Gilbert High’s Technology Program is a Career and Technical Education class offered at all five high schools in the Gilbert Public School district.
Tomorrow’s Technician is a publication delivering technical information for servicing today’s vehicles to 40,000 automotive students enrolled in more than 1,800 technical and vocational schools across the U.S.
