Executive Director’s Letter – Fall 2016
Submitted by Pam Ferguson
Dear ACTEAZ Members and Friends,
Sometimes when life gets busy, we tend to forget to thank those that matter the most; therefore, I would like to publicly thank: Shelly York, your Assistant Executive Director, Mary Anne Berens our Director of ACTEAZ Premier Series, and Tony York, our Technology coordinator, for their outstanding service and loyal dedication to our state association, acting on our behalf year after year.
We truly are extremely fortunate to have their leadership and attention to detail which helps keep everything running smoothly. I also would like to thank Cristina Calahan, who assists us in many different areas and has been a wonderful addition to our team the past few years. On a personal note, I would like to thank all of our families and friends for everything they do to make our conference a success. This year when Julie said, some things are personal; this really is true, and is long overdue and time that I thank them on our behalf.
I am also proud to say that we pulled off yet another exemplary ACTE Summer conference and with our combined collaboration; it really does reach new heights each year. And, if you haven’t already, please be sure to check out the Media Gallery to view all the photos during the conference. They are fantastic!
I would also like to acknowledge and thank Lisa Doll, our ACTEAZ Conference Chair, and the Association of Career Technical Education Officers, and our Board of Directors for their fantastic sessions and professional delivery. Likewise, here’s a big shout out to our ACTEAZ Members and Fellows and Summer Conference Steering Committee, both of whom contributed significantly and deserve to be thanked and recognized as well.
Jeanne Roberts, and the Arizona Department of Education Leadership, please accept our sincere thanks for your phenomenal sessions and stellar presenters that hit the mark for content and presentations.
And to all Arizona CTE Professionals, thank you and congratulations for your many accomplishments, whether it is with conference planning, teaching in the classroom, or working on getting JTED funds restored.
As we close out the Summer Conference, and move on to Fall and Mid-Winter, we are excited and look toward more advocacy and include other CTE issues as well.
Please take a moment to share thanks with all those that enhance your day, and allow you to keep on being that great teacher, administrator, counselor, and the like.
And that is my HUGE THANKS to ALL OF YOU! HAPPY FALL!
Sincerely,
Pam Ferguson
