Foundations of Online Instruction

- This class is designed for all CTE teachers.
This is a synchronous online class that will consist of two full-day online meetings.
- Participants are required to be on camera and have a functioning microphone for the duration of all three online session
- Participants must attend from a quiet, uninterrupted space
- This is an interactive class that will require your active participation
- After registering, a Zoom link will be sent
Participants must attend both online meetings from 8 am-4 pm

This two-day course (15 hours) will be taught virtually and will model how the Foundations of Online Instruction should be delivered to students. Participants will experience each section of the course as a student. At the end of each section, participants will be asked to design or modify a given lesson plan to reflect their learning for that section. The final assessment for participants will happen on day two. Each participant will teach the lesson plan they designed to their peers and will be evaluated by an instructor using the Online Instruction Checklist.
There is no homework for this class. Upon successful completion of BOTH Foundations Of Online Instruction classes, participants will receive an ADE certificate for 15 professional development clock hours, which equates to one (1) semester hour of coursework.
