Buckeye Union High School District Sweeps Up at FBLA Conference

The Buckeye Hawks had a very successful trip to the FBLA State Leadership Conference on April 3-5 in Tucson, AZ at the Westin La Paloma Resort.

Lacy Hunt and Ebite Amughan finished their terms as FBLA State Officers. They were both awarded the Presidents Volunteer Service Award-Gold level, Leader Level of the Business Achievement Awards, and four college credits through Eastern Arizona College. Mrs. Hunt said, ― Thank you to the teachers who had Lacy and Ebite this year for their support and helping them in fulfilling their obligations as FBLA State Officers.

Buckeye FBLA was awarded a Gold Chapter Award. There were only 12 chapters out of 102 chapters in Arizona that qualified for this award.

Alexis Wertzberger placed second on the written test which qualifies her to go to Nationals. Also, qualifying to go to Nationals in the testing events are Ebitie Amughan in Business Communications and Lacy Hunt & Brennen Hall in Technology Concepts.


YHS FBLA students continued the winning streak for our Career and Technical Student Organizations, rounding out the month of CTSO competitions. Eight students competed against thousands of students from across Arizona and did an outstanding job.

Electronic Career Portfolio (Individual Event)
Tanasia Newman – 3rd Place in the state, possible national candidate
Alexis Williams – Finished top 10 in the state

E-Business (Team Event)
Bryce Smith, Boyce Martinet, Savannah Smith – 2nd Place in the State
They will be representing Arizona FBLA at the National Convention in July
