2023 Midwinter Conference
Session Proposals Due Dec. 16
The ACTEAZ & ACOVA Midwinter Leadership Conference will be taking place February 2 -3, 2023 at the Prescott Resort and Conference Center in Prescott, AZ.
The deadline to submit session proposals is tomorrow, December 16, 2022. To submit a session, click here.

Scholarship Auction & Raffles
The ACTEAZ Fellows will be hosting an in-person auction and online raffles at the Midwinter Conference to raise funds for CTE student scholarships!
The Fellows are seeking donations including student work, gift baskets, gift cards, and more! For instructions on how to deliver the items, contact [email protected].
The auction will take place during the Midwinter Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 2 from 6 – 8 p.m.
Online raffles will be held throughout the day Thursday on the Whova app. You will be able to purchase tickets on the ACTEAZ website during the conference.

ACTE Board of Directors Election
ACTEAZ’s own Jayme Fitzpatrick is running for the ACTE Board of Directors as Administration Division Vice President-Elect.
We encourage ACTEAZ members who are also ACTE National members to vote for Jayme!
In order to vote, you must be a member of ACTE National as of Nov. 2, 2022. Ballots must be cast by Jan. 2, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
2023 Arizona CTE Summer Conference

The 2023 Arizona Career and Technical Education Summer Conference will be taking place July 14 – 19, 2023 at the Hilton El Conquistador and Westin La Paloma in Tucson, AZ.

2023 CTE Month® Video Contest
The annual ACTEAZ CTE Month® Video Contest is now open! Arizona secondary and post-secondary CTE students have the opportunity to win up to $500!
Submissions close January 12, 2023. Winners will be announced February 1, 2023, at the beginning of CTE Month.
ACTEAZ Awards
Submissions for the 2023 ACTEAZ Awards are now open!
Nominate your favorite CTE teacher, administrator, counselor, business partner, and/or staff member. You can even nominate yourself!
The deadline for nominations is March 17, 2023.
ACTEAZ Scholarships
Arizona high school seniors and post-secondary students are encouraged to apply for the 2023 ACTEAZ Scholarships! To be eligible for a scholarship, students must be nominated by a current ACTEAZ member.
The scholarship amount ranges from $500 to $2,000, depending on available funds and the number of scholarships the committee agrees to award.

ACTE Region V Conference
The ACTE Region V Conference will be taking place April 12 – 15, 2023 in Fargo, ND.

Remember – you only have three years to eliminate any deficiencies on your CTE teaching certificate.

Meet Shelby Freytag, Premier Series Coordinator
Shelby Freytag joined the ACTEAZ team as Premier Series Coordinator in June 2022.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Technology Management and Education with a teaching emphasis through the University of Arizona: College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. She works remotely hybrid from her home in Yuma, AZ, and travels for ACTEAZ ventures.
Prior to joining ACTEAZ, Shelby was an agricultural educator in the Yuma community. She served as the Yuma Region FFA Advisor and Gila Ridge High School CTE Ambassador Advisor, in addition to educating and advising her own FFA programs over the last five years. Utilizing her experience as an agricultural educator, Shelby has found a passion for Professional Development and is immensely proud to join the ACTEAZ team and serve Arizona education communities.
At ACTEAZ, Shelby works alongside members of the Arizona CTE community to grow and develop the Premier Series program.
Fun Facts:
1. She has a small herd of Boer goats that she breeds and raises for 4H and FFA showman.
2. She has a son and a baby girl.
3. Her favorite place to vacation is Munich, Germany.
